Dress: Free People/ Jacket: Forever 21, similar/ boots: Freebird by Steven/Bag: Dooney and Bourke, vintage/ Watch: Michael Kors

Nobody gets more excited for fall than I do. Chilly air, crunchy leaves, pumpkins, cloudy days, what’s not to love? Here in LA, we don’t get fall till a bit later, and usually only in little fits punctuated by heat waves, so when we do get a truly fall-ish day, I soak it up. Yesterday was like that. I stayed in almost all day, read, drank coffee, and enjoyed the gloom. I also get really excited to break out my boots, tights, and coats, which clearly I did all three here.

This dress and these boots are two recent finds that I’m a bit obsessed over and can’t quite get enough of. You’ve been warned. 😉

Thanks for reading! xoxo

Lemon and Lime + What I wore for Halloween (part 1)

Here’s a quickie little outfit post, taken in a bit of a rush right before work. I felt like looking citrusy I guess. 🙂

Pretty awesome costumes if I do say so myself! What are you dressing up as for Halloween?

Rock a statement necklace without rocking your bank account!

Call me crazy, but I really can’t get enough of this whole statement necklace thing. Two years ago, I would’ve thought these super bright, super crystal-ly over the top costume jewelry necklaces were tacky. Jcrew and Anthropologie seem to be the best at making said necklaces, but, at about $150 a pop, that’s just a little too much to cough up for something that doesn’t actually have value. So, being the savvy shopper I am, I have found an alternative: Ebay! It requires a little more digging and a bit more patience, but instead of paying $150, you could pay about $10 dollars for something that looks just the same. Just search for “statement necklace” or “jcrew style statement necklace.” The only downside is these super cheap pieces are coming from China, so you’ll have to wait a minute to get them. Patience is a virtue, right?

Here’s a couple of awesome pieces I found today for less than $10:

What I wore: Sherman Oaks Street Fair

Cheers to Sunday funday! Today, I had the pleasure of joining some friends and enjoying my Sunday afternoon at the Sherman Oaks Street Fair. WE spent the afternoon walking up Ventura Boulevard taking in all the different street vendors and eating sushi at a nearby restaurant. The people watching was also really fun. I definitely am kicking myself for leaving my cannon battery at home because there was some great street style to shoot. Ah, well, c’est la vie, right?

On another note, if you are obsessed with Alexander Wang like I am but aren’t obsessed with the price tag that goes with it, my shoes are a great option! I just recently snagged them from Forever 21 and LOVE them! Not only do they look awesome, but they are really comfortable too, I walked around all afternoon in them and it was my first time wearing them so…kuddos, Forever 21!

A little 90’s style never hurt nobody

I went a bit crazy with online shopping the other day. These dope metallic silver boots are probably my favorite  buy in a long time. They are definitely not something I would normally be drawn to, but style is all about having a good time and not taking yourself too seriously right?

Isabel Marant for H&M

Like most people, I can’t exactly afford to spend hundreds of dollars on designer clothes. So when awesome designers like Isabel Marant decide to collaborate with stores I can shop at, like H&M, I get super excited. I know, its not the real thing, but its about as close as this girl is gonna get for a while. However, it takes a lot for me to get in line, crazy-black-friday-style-at-5-in-the-morning style to buy some lower priced designer duds. For example, as much as I was completely obsessed with the Philip Lim 3.1 collection for Target, I couldn’t quite find the motivation to wake up before the sunshine on a Sunday morning. But Isabel Marant just may persuade me. I want every piece in this collection…could be bad news for my bank account come November 14 when this line drops!

Sunday Brunch

When it comes to Sundays, I can be very bipolar. Its either stay in my pajamas all day or get dressed up and have brunch with some friends. Nothing screams Sunday funday like bottomless mimosas (or bottomless sangria, for that matter.) One spot that has delicious brunch and mimosas is Luna Park. Gotta love how they have cereal ready and waiting for the moment you are seated.

I know most people are breaking out their fall duds right now, and I am super jealous of them. I love fall- the clothes, pumpkins, the leaves, crisp air, chilly nights, but unfortunately we really don’t have that here in LA. So this look is a bit summery but, so was the weather today at about 95 degrees. Here’s to (hopefully) the last scorchingly hot weekend for a while!
